Primates

Primates are a group of mammals that includes humans, as well as other species such as monkeys, apes, and lemurs. These animals are all characterized by having hands and feet with long, grasping fingers, and forward-facing eyes, which allow them to better see their environment in three-dimensional space. Their brain is also larger than other mammals, allowing them to use their complex social networks, problem-solve, and use tools. Given their intelligence, primates are essential for research into understanding how the human brain works and how we evolved, and they are also used in medical research to further understand and develop treatments for human diseases.
