Neurodevelopment
al Disabilities Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (NDD) refer to a wide range of problems that can affect a person’s ability to think, learn, and interact with others. These conditions are typically caused by genetic and environmental factors or by exposure to certain environmental conditions before or during the birth of an individual. Examples of NDDs include Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and Cerebral Palsy. Symptoms of these conditions can vary and may include difficulty with learning, social interaction, communication, and other day to day activities. Early diagnosis and intervention are important for successful treatment and management of NDDs, as many of these conditions can be managed with proper therapy and lifestyle modifications. With the increasing prevalence of NDDs, research is being conducted to better understand the underlying mechanisms of these disorders in order to develop more effective treatments.
