Cytokines and Angiogenesis

Cytokines are small proteins released by cells in the body which are involved in signaling and communication between cells. They are involved in a multitude of processes such as the immune response, development, and tissue repair. Angiogenesis is the process of forming new blood vessels from pre-existing ones, and it is regulated by the interaction of these cytokines. It is an important process in the body as it plays a role in wound healing, reproduction and cancer progression. The study of these two processes together helps us to better understand how the body functions and how diseases can be prevented and treated.
