Biography
Dr. Eva Volna is an Associate Professor at the University of Ostrava, Ostrava, Czech Republic, where her research focuses on Artificial Neural Networks, Evolutionary Algorithms, and Pattern Recognition. She holds a PhD and MSc, having completed her education at institutions including the Czech Technical University in Prague, Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Brno (now Masaryk University), and the Pedagogical Faculty of Ostrava (now University of Ostrava), earning the titles RNDr., PaedDr., and docent. Her scholarly work encompasses fuzzy-based decision strategies in real-time strategic games, autonomous robot control using neural networks and adaptive resonance theory, ensemble-based classifiers with boosting for pattern recognition, recommender systems in knowledge mining, big data filtering, and recognition of patterns with fractal structure in time series. Her most-cited publication, "Innovative Approach to Preventive Maintenance of Production Equipment Based on a Modified TPM Methodology for Industry 4.0" (2021), has received 39 citations, and she has authored over 17 indexed publications.
