Abstract:
Cognitive abilities are of immense importance for the normal life sustenance of a human being. As cognitive impairment ensues, the living caliber declines. Among multiple factors, the current epidemic coronavirus diseases 2019 (COVID-19) has been implicated in worsening cognitive performance of the COVID-19 sufferers. Present article pinpoints the etiology and patho physiology as well as recommendations to overcome the COVID-19 led cognitive decline.
Characterizing the Dynamics of Covid-19 Based on Data
Abstract:
The objective of this paper is to apply datadriven discovery of dynamics modeling to obtain a system of differential equations that allows us to describe the transmission dynamics of Covid-19, based on the number of confirmed cases and deaths reported daily. This methodology was applied in four different countries: Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela, and the United States. The main advantage is that only one differential equation is needed to characterize the dynamic of Covid-19 without any mathematical assumption.
Ameliorative Potential of Chlorogenic Acid on Rotenone-Induced Neurotoxicity in Drosophila Melanogaster Model
Abstract:
Chlorogenic acid (CA), abundantly found in green coffee beans, is a phenolic compound with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties amongst others. Exposure to rotenone, a natural pesticide, induces Parkinsonism (a type of neurodegeneration) through the induction of mitochondria dysfunction and oxidative stress. Phytochemicals with antioxidant properties may be promising in attenuating this condition. In this research, the ameliorative role of CA on rotenone-induced toxicity in Drosophila melanogaster was evaluated.
Sexual Risk Behaviors of Sex Workers for HIV / AIDS and STIs in the City of Bamako, Mali
Abstract:
Background: HIV / AIDS affects all social strata and including female sex workers who are a particularly vulnerable group at risk of HIV infection. To assess the risky sexual behavior of female sex workers in Bamako, Mali. This is a quantitative cross-sectional analytical study conducted among 288 female sex workers in the city of Bamako, Mali. This is a case of a pediatric patient who presented with a sudden onset of right abducens nerve palsy with contralateral hemiplegia with no facial paralysis. With the constellation of symptoms aided by the presence of enhancing pontine mass on magnetic resonance imaging, the presence of diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) was presumed to have caused the findings consistent with the common type of Raymond syndrome.
