Production of biodegradable polymer via graft copolymerization of gum Arabic and polyethylene glycol
Abstract:
The increasing demand for environmentally-friendly materials has led to a surge in research on the production of biodegradable polymers. In this study, we investigate the synthesis of a biodegradable polymer by graft copolymerization of gum Arabic (GA) and polyethylene glycol (PEG). GA, a natural polysaccharide and PEG, a synthetic water-soluble polymer, were used as the backbone and graft monomer, respectively. The graft copolymerization was carried out using benzoyl peroxide as an initiator and performed under nitrogen atmosphere. The resulting polymer was characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, Xray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The FTIR spectra confirmed the formation of the graft copolymer, and TGA analysis showed that the copolymer had higher thermal stability than GA. The DTA thermograms indicated two thermal events. Classification and Prioritization of Tasks in Public Administration
Abstract:
A large volume of data is being generated in public administration and it is necessary to develop new computational methodologies to classify and analyze it to do a better analysis and decision making. For this reason, the goal of this paper is to present a computational methodology that allows classifying and prioritizing a series of complaints using Artificial Intelligence techniques. To test this model, we generate 600 complaints in four sectors of the public administration to prove the concept. Later, we calculated the tree decision with the help of the Confusion Matrix, and finally the Priority Matrix (based on the Eisenhower model) allows setting priorities on the complaints, and offers the possibility of delegating and even postponing the response to them. In this way, it is possible to prioritize the complaints made in the public administration.

Dogonyaro-Leaf-Extract as Inhibitor for Aluminum Corrosion in Acid
Abstract:
Background of this paper investigates dogonyaro-leaf-extract as inhibitor for aluminum corrosion in 0.3-M hydrochloric acid, and its acceptability as original. In the methods, the extract was analyzed for phytochemicals and corrosion test performed on aluminum sheet before immersion in acid incorporated extract. Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS), tests were performed over frequency of 100 KHz–10 mHz and 10 mV peak to peak perturbation amplitude to obtain the corrosion potential. Tests were run at 30oC ± room temperature in aerated quiescent solutions. In weight loss method, coupons were suspended in aerated solutions before immersion in 20% mixture of sodium hydroxide and zinc dust to stop further corrosion. Effect of Protein and Energy-Dense Nutritional Supplement with Immunonutrients on Cachexia in Cancer Patients: An Open-Label, Single-Arm Study Among Indian Patients
Abstract:
Cachexia is highly prevalent in cancer patients and is responsible for as much as 20% of all cancer deaths. Nevertheless, there is little emphasis on cachexia in routine clinical practice. This study looks at the efficacy and tolerability of a protein and energy-dense nutritional supplement with immunonutrients on cachexia in cancer patients. This was a three-month, prospective, open-label study of patients undergoing radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy for head and neck or gastrointestinal or lung cancer. Efficacy endpoints were mean change in muscle strength, acute phase proteins (albumin and pre-albumin), C-reactive protein (CRP) levels, weight, Glasgow prognostic score (GPS), and nutritional status at the end of the study period.

A Newer Approach in the Management of Cough: A Review on Levodropropizine
Abstract:
Safe and effective antitussive therapy remains a significant area of unmet need for cough management. Antitussive drugs are commonly used cough suppressants and include centrally acting (opioids and non-opioids) cough suppressants and peripherally acting antitussives. Authors searched PubMed, Google Scholar and additional studies from reference lists via cross-referencing to identify studies assessing levodropropizine for the treatment of cough. Of the 748 studies identified, 13 were included. Recent clinical evidence, guideline recommendations and findings from this review suggest that levodropropizine is a peripheral antitussive which reduces cough intensity, frequency, and nocturnal awakenings in children and adults and provides better efficacy outcomes with a more favourable risk/benefit ratio compared to centrally acting antitussive agents which pose greater safety concerns and present an unaccepta...
Chemotherapy after whole-brain radiotherapy: a prognostic factor for metastatic breast cancer

Breast cancer is the second most common cause of brain metastases after lung cancer. However, the incidence of cerebral metastases from breast cancer has increased during the last years. The purpose of this study is to determine the prognostic value of chemotherapy after whole-brain radiotherapy for patients with brain metastases from breast cancer. We analyzed retrospectively 63 records of patients diagnosed with brain metastases from breast cancer and treated in the radiotherapy department at the Salah Azaiz Institute of oncology over a 5-year period between 2007 and 2011. Hemangioma of the Buccal Mucosa of the Cheek Presenting as a Dermoid Cyst: A Case Report
Abstract:
This case report presents a 73-year old Asian female with a presumed dermoid cyst in the buccal mucosa of the left cheek that was visible and embarrassing to her. Histopathology revealed the mass to be consistent with a cavernous hemangioma. Hemangiomas are benign vascular tumors of mesenchymal origin. It is usually present at birth but can develop later in life. It commonly occurs in the head and neck region, but rarely in the oral cavity.
