Reviewer Resources

As a journal reviewer, it is your responsibility to uphold the guidelines for selecting and accepting submitted papers. While experienced researchers and academics are likely familiar with these guidelines, they can be particularly beneficial for those new to the role of a reviewer.

Few important guidelines:

  • Please provide an impartial review without hesitation. Revisions can be made until the desired quality is achieved.
  • Manuscripts that do not fall within the scope of the journal should be rejected. In such cases, please clearly state the reason for rejection and offer guidance for further action if necessary. For example, if the rejection is due to language issues but the subject matter is strong, suggest language editing. If the rejection is due to the subject being out of scope, clearly state this.
  • Ensure the quality of language is maintained to be understandable by readers worldwide.

Ethical Obligations:

  • Reviewers should provide unbiased consideration to all manuscripts submitted for publication, evaluating each on its merits without regard to the race, religion, nationality, sex, seniority, or institutional affiliation of the authors.
  • Reviewers should assess manuscripts with all reasonable speed and attention. The ultimate responsibility for the acceptance or rejection of a manuscript lies with the editor.
  • Reviewers must not disclose information about a manuscript under consideration to anyone other than those from whom professional advice is sought. Once a decision is made, the editor may disclose the titles and authors of accepted papers.
  • Reviewers should respect the intellectual independence of authors.
  • Any editorial consideration of a manuscript by the author-editor constitutes a conflict of interest.
  • Unpublished information or interpretations disclosed in a submitted manuscript should not be used in the reviewer's own research without the author's consent.
  • Authors may request that certain reviewers not be involved in the consideration of their manuscript.

These are the general and ethical guidelines you need to adhere to achieve the quality output of a research paper.
