The Journal of Glycomics and Metabolism (JGM) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal of research on glycans and metabolism, from molecules to whole organisms. It has been published by Open Access Pub since 2015.
JGM serves researchers in glycobiology, biochemistry, metabolism and related fields who need rigorous reports of how glycans are made, recognized and degraded, and of the metabolic networks that connect them.

JGM publishes research on glycans, glycoconjugates and metabolism, from enzyme mechanism and molecular structure to cells, tissues and the whole organism. This includes the molecular mechanisms of glycosylation and metabolic disorders.
Its aims are to publish methodologically sound research that advances understanding of glycan biology and metabolism, to support the analytical and computational methods on which that research depends, and to make the results freely available to everyone who can use them.
The journal welcomes contributions from chemistry, biochemistry, cell and molecular biology, physiology, nutrition, microbiology, analytical science, bioinformatics and clinical research, whenever they address a question about glycans or metabolism. Original ResearchEmpirical studies of glycans, glycoconjugates or metabolism, from molecular and cellular work to studies of tissues, organisms and populations.
ReviewNarrative, scoping or systematic reviews of a defined question in glycan biology or metabolism. A systematic review is submitted as a Review.
Methods and ProtocolsNew, adapted or validated methods, analytical and computational tools, and protocols for planned studies.
Short CommunicationConcise reports of a focused or preliminary finding.
Data NoteDescriptions of datasets, such as glycomic, glycoproteomic or metabolomic data, to support their reuse.
Case ReportIndividual cases or short case series, such as a metabolic or glycosylation disorder, that carry a lesson for diagnosis, mechanism or care. A case series is submitted as a Case Report.
PerspectiveReasoned, evidence-based argument on a current question in the field or on published work.
LetterBrief responses to articles published in the journal, or short observations of relevance to the field.
