Journal of Fungal Diversity

Aims and Scope

Journal of Fungal Diversity (JFD) is an international, open-access peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing research on the diversity, ecology, evolution, and applications of fungi. JFD serves as a platform for mycologists, ecologists, biotechnologists, and related researchers to share cutting-edge studies that contribute to our understanding of fungal biology and its impact on various ecosystems.

Scope and Focus: JFD publishes high-quality original research, review articles, case reports, and short communications covering a wide range of fungal-related topics, including:

  • Fungal Taxonomy and Systematics: Identification, classification, and evolutionary relationships of fungi.
  • Medical and Veterinary Mycology: Fungal diseases in humans and animals, antifungal resistance, and mycotoxins.
  • Plant Pathology: Interactions between fungi and plants, including beneficial symbioses and pathogenicity.
  • Ecology and Biodiversity: Fungal roles in ecosystems, conservation, and environmental interactions.
  • Molecular Biology and Genetics: Genomics, transcriptomics, and functional studies of fungal species.
  • Biochemistry and Physiology: Fungal metabolism, enzymatic pathways, and biochemical adaptations.
  • Biotechnology and Industrial Applications: Use of fungi in bioremediation, biofuels, pharmaceuticals, and food technology.
  • Bioinformatics and Computational Mycology: Data-driven approaches to fungal classification, evolution, and interactions.

JFD is interested in research that explores the application of artificial intelligence(AI) in the study of ecology, genomics, and biotechnology, as well as its potential impact on understanding fungal diversity and evolution.
