This process is critical for cellular respiration and cellular metabolism, and is widely used in biotechnological applications such as food preservation, fertilizer production, and bleaching. As a result, Catalase is a widely studied enzyme in research and has been used to develop treatments and therapies for diseases such as diabetes and cancer.
