Antioxidant Molecules Determination

Antioxidant molecules are compounds that can minimize the damage caused by oxidative stress in the body. Oxidative stress, which is caused by an imbalance of free radical molecules in the body, can be damaging to cells, proteins, and DNA. By binding to and neutralizing free radicals, antioxidant molecules protect our bodies from harm. Antioxidants can be found naturally in certain foods, but they can also be taken as dietary supplements. Analysis of antioxidants levels in the body is becoming more and more important, as a low concentration may lead to diseases related to oxidative stress. Determination of antioxidant molecules can be done via various techniques, such as chromatography and spectroscopy. These techniques allow for the identification and quantitation of different antioxidant molecules, thereby providing insight into a person's dietary habits or health status.
