Cutaneous Myiasis Caused by Tumbu Fly Larvae Infestation in an Infant: A Case Report

Abstract:

Myiasis is a parasitic infestation of the body of a mammal caused by Cordylobia Anthropophaga (Tumbu fly) larvae. The infestation is prevalent in Sub-Saharan Africa, South-East Mexico and Central America. It is usually seen among rural dwellers and has no age or sex predilection. We report a case of Tumbu fly myiasis seen in a 7month-old male living in Port Harcourt, Nigeria who was erroneously thought to have bullous impetigo.

Metastatic Malignant Melanoma of the Gastrointestinal Tract: A Rare Case and Review of Current Literature

Abstract:

Malignant melanoma the most common malignancies associated with GI involvement. They usually manifest clinically at an advanced stage of neoplasm. Surgery is also recommended for palliative treatment of GIT metastases.

A case of a 67-year-old male diagnosed with malignant melanoma for 7 months had burning epigastric pain and bloatedness. Esophagogastroduodenoscopy showed multiple flat lesions. Biopsy findings were consistent with malignant melanoma.

Camels imported from Africa enter Egypt at Southeast borders. Movement of life animals help spreading of transboundary diseases from endemic areas to free areas. Lappet-faced vulture in Egypt territory represents highly valuable gift of nature, it is recorded in Red sea zone of Egypt. Their numbers indicate vulture breeding rate was promising for such endangered species. The Egyptian authority played a great role in protecting this land from destructive behavior against wild life. In this work we present how it is possible to visualize the different coronavirus outbreaks from the calculation of the mantissa from the daily record of cases by Covid-19.This curve can also indicate the speed of propagation of the disease from the calculated infection rate. These conclusions are derived from the respective calculations in four different countries: Australia, Brazil, Italy, and Venezuela.
