Storing Lesion-free Tooth Morphology for Biomorphic Dental Restoration Design
Abstract:
The goal of dental restoration is to restore and reconstruct the function, integrity, and morphology of missing tooth structures. At present, dental crowns are usually fabricated by referencing the homonym and adjacent teeth to design the morphology of the restoration, followed by empirical modifications on the restoration morphology. The original morphology of an intact natural tooth, if available, would allow for a balance of the horizontal and vertical forces generated by the surrounding tissues. Otherwise, it is hard for a restoration to reproduce the original tooth morphology. Discrepancies between original tooth morphology and restorations, such as axial over-contour or inappropriate occlusion, may break physiologically established balance, causing patient discomfort or even malocclusion and occlusal diseases. Myasthenia is a rare neurological condition with risk of death in case of inappropriate management. The outcome of this pathology is very bad in developing countries with inadequate technical Platform. Severe Ischemic Stroke due to Progression of Cervical Carotid Artery Dissection
Abstract:
Spontaneous dissection of the cervical segment of the internal carotid artery (CS-ICA) is uncommon but not rare. A 43-year-old man suddenly developed complete right hemiparesis with motor aphasia. 3 weeks after the initial symptom onset. Magnetic resonance imaging showed enlargement of an intramural hematoma at the cervical carotid artery; it severely compressed and completely occluded the arterial lumen. Diffuse ischemia was observed in the area of the left middle cerebral artery (MCA) immediately after onset and he underwent emergency left superficial temporal artery-MCA double bypass within 6 hours. There was no fatal deterioration and his neurological deficit was resolved. We discuss our treatment of spontaneous dissection of the CS-ICA to prevent ischemic damage.
A Cost Analysis of Systematic Vitamin D Supplementation in the Elderly Versus Supplementation Based on Assessed Requirements

Hypovitaminosis D is common among older people and treatment with vitamin D is associated with reduced risk of falls and fractures. This paper provides a cost analysis of assessing the vitamin D status of and providing the pharmaceuticals for elderly citizens in Kalmar County, Sweden (population approximately 230,000). Four hypothetical interventions were analyzed: (a) systematic vitamin D/calcium supplementation to all elderly (≥75 years), (b) assessment of vitamin D status in elderly and supplementation to those with insufficient levels, (c) systematic vitamin D/calcium supplementation to all nursing-home residents, and (d) assessment of vitamin D status in nursing-home residents and supplementation to those with insufficient levels. To evaluate cumulative dissipated energy (CDE), laser time, central corneal thickness and endothelial cell loss after two different fragmentation pattern by means of femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery (FLACS). Eighty eyes of 80 patients that underwent FLACS were randomized in two groups: mixed chop and dice lens fragmentation pattern (group 1 with 40 eyes) and mixed chop and cylindrical lens fragmentation pattern (group 2 with 40 eyes). The use of herbal medicine is becoming popular day by day due to toxicity and side effects of allopathic medicines. Considering the medicinal importance of the plant Murraya koenigii Linn (Curry leaf), the antioxidant activity (AC), total phenolic content (TPC), total flavonoid content (TFC), of different fractions of methanolic extract (DIA-ion resin adsorbed fraction, chloroform, Ethyl acetate and petroleum ether) of M. koenigii were investigated. Among the fractions, DIA-ion resin-adsorbed fraction showed the highest total antioxidant activity with absorbance 2.320±06 and petroleum ether fraction showed the lowest total antioxidant activity with absorbance 1.944 at 100 mg/ml concentration.
