Overview

Parasites Medicinal animal parasites are the organisms that live in or on the bodies of animals, typically resulting in a detrimental effect and are used in traditional and modern medicine. These parasites may be host-specific, and when harvested and consumed, can provide therapeutic, immunological and health benefits. Medicinal animal parasites are particularly beneficial for individuals suffering from immune-related diseases, such as allergies, asthma, rheumatoid arthritis and Crohn's disease. They are also used to reduce the symptoms of depression, enhance fertility and prevent cancer. Additionally, medicinal animal parasites have potential applications for wound healing, drug delivery and tissue regeneration.
