Avian Influenza

Avian influenza, also known as bird flu, is a viral infection caused by influenza A viruses that mainly affect birds and poultry. It is a highly contagious disease and can spread rapidly through contaminated feed, water, and close contact between infected and healthy birds. In some cases, avian influenza can be transmitted to humans, which can lead to serious illness, even death. Avian influenza is an important public health issue due to the potential for it to cause severe epidemics and pandemics in the human population. To minimize its impact, it is important to have an effective surveillance system in place to monitor the movement of infected birds and take necessary precautionary measures. Vaccination of poultry and other related animals is also an important measure to prevent the spread of avian influenza.
