Animal Performance
Animal performance is the ability of an animal to complete specific tasks or activities, either with or without human assistance. Animal performance is an important part of animal husbandry and is used to assess the health and well-being of animals. Performance measures can also be used to improve animal welfare, optimize livestock production, and improve genetic selection for desirable traits. It can help to inform decisions about nutrition, housing, and breeding, as well as enable the breeding of animals for traits that are beneficial for agricultural and scientific purposes. Animal performance is also closely monitored in the equestrian and zoological industries, where certain types of behavior or physical traits may be necessary for competitions or showing.
