Music Therapy
Music therapy is an evidence-based practice in which music is used as a therapeutic tool to address physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of individuals. Through music activities and interventions, music therapists aim to improve the quality of life of those they serve, regardless of age or ability. Music therapy can be used to reduce stress and anxiety, improve mood, manage behaviour, and facilitate cognitive functioning and communication. Music therapy can also be used to provide physical, emotional, and spiritual support for people living in hospitals, nursing homes, and other care settings, as well as in traditional healthcare settings. Music therapy is a safe, non-invasive, and cost-effective treatment option that can be used in the management of a variety of medical and psychological conditions.
