Cognitive Heuristics
Cognitive heuristics are psychological shortcuts that aid people in making decisions and judgments. They allow us to navigate the world and make decisions quickly by relying on instinct and prior knowledge to shape our thinking. By relying on these mental shortcuts, we are able to make quick decisions, even when we lack all the necessary information and understanding of the situation. Cognitive heuristics are especially useful in situations where the available information is limited and incomplete. They can also help to improve decision-making process and accuracy, by eliminating potential biases and providing a systematic approach. In addition, they are a powerful tool for reducing complexity, promoting creativity, and helping us arrive at better decisions more efficiently.
