Circulatory System: Animals

The circulatory system is a vital organ system that ensures the distribution of oxygen, nutrients, and hormones throughout the body and the elimination of metabolic waste. It consists of the heart, a network of blood vessels, and the blood. The heart pumps blood with the help of four valves, while the vessels carry and circulate it throughout the body. The circulatory system has a wide range of crucial functions, including the transportation of oxygen and nutrients to the cells and organs and the removal of metabolic waste. It also plays an important role in thermoregulation, immune and hormonal regulation, and maintaining homeostasis. Without an efficient and properly functioning circulatory system, life would not be possible.
