Overview
Weather and climate are terms often used interchangeably, however, they have different meanings and have distinct effects on our lives. Weather refers to the atmospheric conditions of a particular location over a short period of time, such as temperature, wind and precipitation. Climate, on the other hand, is a much larger scale and refers to the average temperature and precipitation patterns of an area over a longer period of time. Weather and climate are both important elements of our environment that affect living organisms, their habitats, and the ecosystems they share. They also have significant implications for human activities such as agriculture, natural resource management, and public health. Understanding weather and climate patterns is essential in order to forecast changes in the environment and make informed decisions about resource management.
