Meteorology
Meteorology is the science of studying the atmosphere and how it affects Earth’s environment and weather. It is an important part of understanding climate change, as well as essential for forecasting the weather and tracking extreme weather events like hurricanes and floods. Meteorologists analyze data from satellites, balloons, aircraft, ground-based instruments, and other sources in order to better understand the forces that drive climate. Meteorological research can help us to better protect human lives, property, and the environment from the impacts of severe weather events.
