Meteorological Services and Equipment

Meteorological services and equipment provide data and resources for the study of weather and climate and for related applications. They include instruments such as weather balloons, thermometers, radar, satellite and lightning detectors, as well as computer models and software. Meteorology is an important scientific field that helps to predict and understand changes in the environment, which can have far-reaching social and economic implications. Meteorological services and equipment provide data for a range of activities including forecasting, climate change modeling, agricultural planning and management, public health planning and emergency preparedness. Additionally, they enable research into significant climate and weather events, such as storms and floods.
