Condensation

Polymerization Condensation polymerization is a process of chemical polymerization which involves the reaction of two molecules to form a larger molecule, with the release of a small by-product molecule such as an alcohol or water molecule. This process has significant applications in the production of synthetic materials such as polyurethanes and polyamides, which are widely used in the manufacture of plastics, elastomers, and adhesives. Condensation polymerization is also used in the production of nylon, polyesters, and many other polymers. The by-product molecules produced as a result of this reaction are also extremely useful in industrial processes, as they can be used as catalysts, surfactants, and cross-linking agents in certain synthetic materials.
