Overview

Renewable Energy is energy generated from natural sources such as the sun, wind, rain, tides and geothermal heat, which are renewable, meaning they are constantly replenished. Renewable energy offers an ecological and economically attractive alternative to traditional fossil fuels. Renewable energy sources can reduce dependence on imported energy, offering security of supply while also reducing carbon emissions, making it a critical aspect of the fight against climate change. Its use also provides economic development through job creation and increased income, as well as increased energy access for those in rural and remote areas. Renewable energy can be used in a variety of ways, including in power plants, transportation, buildings and industry.
