Global Change Ecology
Global change ecology is the study of how shifts in global climate change and other environmental factors affect the distribution, abundance, and behavior of plants and animals. It involves an interdisciplinary approach to understanding how global climate change impacts the environment and how organisms respond and adapt to these changes. By studying global change ecology, research can be conducted on the potential impacts of climate change on populations, ecosystems, and communities, as well as identify potential methods of adaptation and conservation. This research is critical in understanding how global climate change and other environmental changes will impact sensitive species and ecosystems, providing insight into how we can best manage, conserve, and protect biodiversity in a changing environment.
