Chemical Pollutants and Its Effects on Health
Chemical pollutants refer to any chemical compound that is present in the environment, but has not been naturally found in it. They are released into the air, water, or soil as byproducts of industrial activities, from burning of fossil fuels, and from other human activities. These pollutants can have a significant adverse effect on our health and on the environment, ranging from causing respiratory illnesses, to damaging soil and marine life, to disrupting ecosystems. In addition, these chemicals can travel long distances and persist in the environment for extended periods of time, leading to contamination of large areas of land, water, and air. Therefore, controlling and preventing chemical pollution is vital in order to reduce its harmful impact on human health and the environment.
