Overview
Animal husbandry is the branch of agriculture concerned with the breeding, feeding, housing, and health management of domesticated animals raised for food, fiber, work, or other products, integrating animal nutrition, reproduction, welfare, and disease control to sustain productive livestock systems. Veterinary Healthcare publishes peer-reviewed, open-access research relevant to livestock production and management, including a seroprevalence study of camel brucellosis and its associated risk factors in Ethiopia, an evaluation of forage silage traits comparing maize and hybrid giant Napier, a study of the prevalence and economic importance of bovine hydatidosis in slaughtered animals, work on contagious bovine pleuropneumonia, and an assessment of the prospects of integrating caviaculture and fish farming in Cameroon. These articles reflect the journal's coverage of livestock disease, animal nutrition and forage, and the economics of animal production. Readers interested in livestock health, animal nutrition, and production systems will find peer-reviewed, open-access studies relevant to animal husbandry.
