Sexually Transmitted Infections
Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) refer to the infections that are spread through sexual contact with an infected person. These infections can be caused by viruses, bacteria, or parasites and can affect the genital area, mouth, or rectum. The most common STIs include chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, HIV/AIDS, HPV, hepatitis B, and trichomoniasis. In most cases, STIs can be prevented by using condoms, limiting the number of sex partners, and getting tested regularly. If left untreated, STIs can lead to long-term health problems including infertility, cancer, and even death. It is important to be aware of the risks and to practice safe sex.
