Infectious Diseases Neglected Tropical Diseases (ID-NTDs) are illnesses that occur mainly in developing countries but have worldwide implications. They are caused by different types of pathogenic bacteria, viruses, parasites, and fungi and can lead to severe disabilities and death. The diseases are typically neglected in diagnosis and treatment due to lack of resources and awareness. ID-NTDs can have severe, long-lasting impacts on the health and development of communities, populations, and countries. They are of global importance for public health and economic development, as the burden of these diseases disproportionally affects the world's most vulnerable populations. Effective prevention, diagnosis, and treatment must be addressed in order to reduce their devastating impacts.
