Hypertension
Hypertension, also known as high blood pressure, is a global health issue. It is a condition where the force of the blood against artery walls is too high. The pressure can be caused by various factors such as age, lifestyle and genetic factors. Long term hypertension can damage blood vessels, leading to increased risk of heart attack, stroke and organ damage. Early diagnosis and management of hypertension are important to reduce the risk of these health complications. The treatment normally includes lifestyle changes such as reducing salt intake and increasing physical activity, as well as medications to control blood pressure.
