Health Inequalities
Health Inequalities refer to the differences in health outcomes that exist between different social groups. These inequalities reflect the unequal distribution of resources and power across society, meaning that those with the least resources, power and opportunities are more likely to experience poorer health than those with the greatest resources, power and opportunities. Health Inequalities can exist in a number of areas, including access to healthcare, nutrition, physical activity, and exposure to pollution. Improving Health Inequalities is essential for creating healthier societies, as health inequalities affect people’s ability to lead healthy, happy and productive lives. Addressing health inequalities requires changes in policy and practice and can be achieved through improving health service delivery, reducing health inequities, and empowering communities to have a voice in shaping the services they receive.
