Peritoneal Lavage

Peritoneal lavage is a procedure used to diagnose and treat abdominal diseases. In this procedure, a needle or tube is inserted into a patient's abdomen and a sterile solution is introduced and then drained out. The removed solution is then analyzed to identify any signs of infection or inflammation. Peritoneal lavage can be used to diagnose and treat appendicitis, peritonitis, abscesses, and other abdominal disorders. It can also help to determine the cause of unexplained abdominal pain or fever. Additionally, it can help make decisions about surgical or medical treatments, as well as providing a way to evaluate the effectiveness of treatments. Peritoneal lavage is an important medical tool for diagnosing and treating abdominal diseases.
