Organoids
Organoids are three-dimensional tissue cultures derived from stem cells and other adult cells, providing an opportunity to study organ function, disease and drug responses in a laboratory environment. They are particularly useful for studying rare or difficult-to-access tissues, such as those from the brain, heart, and stomach. Organoids can provide insight into how individual organs interact with each other and how they maintain their overall structure and function. They are also useful for studying the development of complex organs, such as the brain, and for testing the efficacy of drugs. Organoids can provide a window into our own biology and hold promise as a potential tool for modeling and treating diseases.
