Stent Thrombosis

Stent Thrombosis is a medical condition in which a blockage forms inside of an artery or vein that has previously been opened up by a stent. It is caused by a blood clot forming on the stent and/or a reaction to the material the stent is made of. Stent Thrombosis is a potentially life-threatening condition and is associated with an increased risk of heart attacks, stroke, and death. Early detection and aggressive treatment are important to reduce the risk of complications and increase the chances of a positive outcome. Treatment may involve the use of medications such as antiplatelet agents, anticoagulants, and thrombolytics, and may sometimes involve the removal of the stent.
