Structural Biology
Structural biology is an interdisciplinary field of science that focuses on understanding the physical structures of biological macromolecules. These macromolecules, such as proteins, nucleic acids, and carbohydrates, form the basis of all living organisms. By studying their structures, scientists can better understand how they interact with each other and their environment, and gain insights into how diseases work and how they can be treated. Structural biology has played a major role in biomedical research and drug design, as well as in many other fields, such as agriculture and biotechnology. It provides the foundation for advances in understanding the molecular mechanisms of life.
