Overview

Athletics, such as running, jumping, and swimming, is an important part of a healthy lifestyle. However, athletes are more prone to certain health issues that come with participating in sports. These sports-related health issues can arise from either direct physical injury or due to overexertion. Common health issues in athletics include musculoskeletal injuries (sprains, strains, tendinitis), stress fractures, heat stress, dehydration, and cardiac problems. It is important to recognize the signs and symptoms of these health issues in order to prevent or treat them in a timely manner. Prevention of health issues in athletes requires adherence to proper nutrition, hydration, and exercise habits, and regular medical check-ups. Health care professionals can also provide support in the form of personalized training plans, medical advice, and medical treatment. The prevention and treatment of health issues in athletes is essential to maintain the athlete’s physical health and performance, and promote a healthy and safe environment for the athlete.
