Overview
Stimulation Spinal cord stimulation (SCS) is a medical therapy used to alleviate chronic pain. It involves delivering small electrical pulses to the spinal cord to interrupt pain signals before they reach the brain. SCS is used to treat a variety of chronic pain conditions, including neuropathy, complex regional pain syndrome, and low back pain. Studies have found SCS to be a safe, effective, and cost-efficient intervention for chronic pain relief. SCS can help patients reduce the amount of opioid medications they need, as well as improve their quality of life.
