Excessive Daytime Sleepiness

Excessive Daytime Sleepiness (EDS) is a common disorder that is characterized by a persistent feeling of drowsiness during the day, which often leads to difficulty concentrating, fatigue, and irritability. EDS can be caused by a variety of factors such as underlying medical conditions, sleep deprivation, and sleep disorders. It is important to diagnose and treat EDS, as it can have an adverse effect on a person's quality of life. Treatment for EDS may involve lifestyle changes such as increasing physical activity, improving sleep hygiene, and avoiding caffeine and nicotine. Medical treatments, such as medication and cognitive behavioural therapy, may also be used. Early diagnosis and treatment of EDS are important in managing the disorder and improving quality of life.
