Muscle Physiology

Muscle physiology is the study of how muscles work, including muscle contraction and how muscles are supplied with energy. It is a field of biology which has significance in many areas, such as medicine, physical therapy, sports performance, nutrition, and ergonomics. The understanding of muscle physiology helps us to better understand human movement, rehabilitation techniques, and the health and performance benefits associated with exercise. The details of muscle physiology include the structure and function of muscle cells, the process of muscle contraction, the metabolic processes of muscle tissues, and the control of muscles by nerves and hormones. Through the study of muscle physiology, we have a better understanding of how to strengthen muscles and improve muscle performance.
