Schizophrenia Causes
Schizophrenia is a mental disorder that affects an individual's thinking, behavior, and emotions. It is characterized by delusions, hallucinations, disorganized speech and behavior, and social withdrawal. The exact cause of schizophrenia is still unknown, but it is believed to involve a complex interaction of genetic, biological, psychological, and environmental factors. Studies suggest that genetics may play a role, as people with a family history of schizophrenia are more likely to develop the disorder. Treatment typically involves antipsychotic medications and psychotherapy to help manage symptoms and improve daily functioning. Early diagnosis and treatment is critical for maximizing recovery and minimizing long-term disability.
