Overview

Respiratory medicine nosocomial and healthcare-associated infections refer to infections acquired in the hospital or other healthcare settings. These infections are often caused by bacteria and viruses, including SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19). Respiratory medicine nosocomial and healthcare-associated infections can be serious and may result in hospitalization and even death. Prevention and control of these infections is essential to improve patient safety and reduce the risk of transmission and spread. Healthcare professionals such as doctors, nurses, and other health care workers can take steps to reduce the risk of infection by following hand hygiene protocols and using PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). By doing so, healthcare-associated infections can be prevented and the safety of both healthcare providers and patients can be ensured.
