Pulmonary Function
Tests Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs) are a set of tests used to assess how well your lungs are working. These tests can measure the amount of air you can take in and out, the rate at which you can breathe in and out, and various other characteristics of your lung health. The results offer valuable information about the health of your lungs and can be used to detect, diagnose, and monitor lung conditions, such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and certain types of lung cancer. PFTs can also be used to monitor the effectiveness of treatments or medications. By improving our understanding of lung health and providing helpful information for diagnosis and treatment, PFTs can help improve the quality of life for those with lung diseases.
