Overview
Corticosteroid Therapy is a form of treatment aimed at effectively reducing inflammation. It involves the use of drugs, such as prednisone and methylprednisolone, to decrease inflammation, which in turn reduces pain and improves tissue healing. The corticosteroids work by blocking the production of chemicals involved in the inflammatory process in the body, thus reducing the swelling and irritation caused by the inflammatory response. Corticosteroid Therapy has been used effectively in the treatment of chronic inflammatory diseases like asthma, rheumatoid arthritis and Crohn's disease. It has also been used to treat allergies, skin conditions, and certain types of cancer. By reducing inflammation, Corticosteroid Therapy not only helps to alleviate immediate symptoms, but can also improve long-term health outcomes.
