Community Based Intervention
Community Based Intervention (CBI) is an approach that is used by healthcare providers to impact positive change in the public health sector. The main goal of CBI is to improve health outcomes in communities by collaborating with individuals and groups in the community. This approach involves partnership and active participation with residents in the area to identify their needs and develop programs that address their needs. One of the core values of CBI is a community partnership, which involves working together with community members to identify and solve health problems. This approach ensures that the community is empowered to take ownership of their health through active participation in the planning and implementation of programs. Collaboration among community members, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders is important to best address local issues such as disease prevention, health promotion, and access to healthcare. CBI also focuses on targeting the areas of greatest need in the community. This is achieved through community engagement and understanding social determinants of health. Social determinants include access to healthcare, housing, education, and employment. Therefore, healthcare providers, community members, and stakeholders work together to create programs that address the social determinants in order to improve overall health outcomes. In conclusion, Community Based Intervention is a holistic approach to addressing public health challenges that focuses on the needs and strengths of the community. It aims at improving the health of the community as a whole by promoting collaboration among stakeholders and empowering communities to take ownership of their health. Healthcare providers, in collaboration with community members and other stakeholders, can initiate effective CBI strategies to improve public health outcomes.
