Personality Disorder
Personality disorder is an enduring pattern of inner experience and behavior that deviates significantly from the expectations of the individual's culture, is pervasive and inflexible, has an onset in adolescence or early adulthood, is stable over time, and leads to distress or impairment. It is characterized by difficulties in emotional regulation, impulse control and cognitive processes that lead to significant impairment in people's lives. Personality disorder is one of the most common mental health conditions and can have a profound impact on individuals, families, and communities. Treatment for personality disorder often includes psychotherapy, medication, self-help groups, and lifestyle changes.
