Overview
Depression is a mood disorder characterized by prolonged feelings of sadness, guilt, worthlessness, and/or helplessness. It can lead to a range of psychological and physical problems, including changes in appetite, sleep, and energy levels, as well as difficulty concentrating and making decisions. It is one of the most common mental health disorders, affecting people of all ages and socioeconomic backgrounds. Effective treatments for depression, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, medications, and lifestyle modifications, can improve symptoms, increase quality of life, and reduce the risk of long-term complications.
