Plasma Proteomics
Plasma proteomics is the study of proteins found in the blood plasma of organisms. These proteins are used to identify, quantify and compare the changes in protein expression which occur during a variety of physiological and pathological processes. Through analyzing these proteins, scientists can gain insight into the mechanisms of disease and response to treatments. Plasma proteomics has great potential in the diagnosis of disease, providing early warning signs of disease and aiding in the development of therapeutic and diagnostic tools. Additionally, it can be used to identify biomarkers for drug targets and monitor the effects of drug treatments. By understanding the complexity of protein changes in the plasma, researchers can uncover new insight into disease etiology and progression.
