Plant Protection
Plant protection is the management of external factors, such as insects, fungi, diseases, and weeds, that can negatively impact crop production. This is important for both agricultural and horticultural production, as it helps prevent loss of the crop. Plant protection is undertaken by using a variety of strategies that vary depending on the species and the environment. These strategies include using physical or chemical barriers, crop rotation, pest management, and reducing or eliminating the use of pesticides.
