Plant Nutrition
Plant nutrition is the study of the chemical elements and compounds necessary for plant growth, health, and reproduction. It includes the study of how a plant obtains these essential nutrients from the environment, as well as how it absorbs and utilizes them for growth and health. Plant nutrition is essential for crop productivity, as plants need access to key elements from the environment such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, as well as micronutrients such as iron, zinc, and boron, to survive and thrive. Improving plant nutrition can lead to healthier plants, increased crop yields, and improved quality of food products. Farmers, agronomists, and researchers all rely on plant nutrition research to inform farming and agricultural practices and improve food security around the world.
