Agri Biotechnology
Agricultural Biotechnology is the use of modern techniques such as genetic engineering, gene editing, gene transfer and molecular diagnostics to improve the genetic make-up of crops and livestock. It is used to improve production efficiency, reduce the use of chemical pesticides, and increase food and animal nutrition. Agri biotechnology is also used to develop new varieties of plants and animals that are resistant to disease, pests and drought, and to create new products that support sustainable growth in the agricultural sector. Overall, agricultural biotechnology is a key tool in ensuring the production of safe, affordable and nutritious food for a growing global population.
